Marangu gate to Mandara Hut
If you choose this route, your journey will begin at the Marangu gate (1,980 m), where you must register at the Park Office. Walk through the rainforest to the Mandara encampment. A short detour to Maundi Crater offers scenic views of Northern Tanzania and Kenya. In the rainforest, keep an eye out for majestic Eucalyptus trees, various bird species, and Colobus monkeys. After lunch, hike back to the park gate and return to Moshi by vehicle.
